Some other tools that help learners to create projects
Hi everyone! It looks like the time is flying and now I am
writing my fifth blog post, but for me this post is like I am doing my first
one because of useful topics we have treated so far in this subject. While, I
have to admit that week after week lectures are becoming more and more
interesting, so I can also say that our knowledge for technology in teaching is
expanding. Let’s get back to action and talk about this week’s topic. What are some other tech tools that may help
us to create projects? Well we can mention some of them and see how do they
work
1. Padlet: When students are engaged in
collaborative work, Padlet is a great tool for the classroom. It works as an
online bulletin board where students can post ideas, images, videos, and more.
With problem based learning, Padlet works as an excellent starting point where
students can post research questions and post the answers they find as they
research.
2.
Animoto is an online, cloud-based video creation
platform. It can be used to create videos, not only from video content, but
also from photos. The key is that you don't need to worry about formats of
various files as Animoto does all the conversion work for you. Animoto is super
simple to use, from creating presentation slideshows with audio to making
polished videos with soundtracks. The platform includes templates to make it
even more user-friendly. It also makes sharing very simple, ideal for teachers
who want to integrate videos in teaching platforms such as Google Classroom, Edmodo, ClassDojo and
others. Since the video is created online, sharing is as simple as copying
a link. This means that a video can be made on many devices, unlike traditional
video-editing tools that require a lot of processing power on the part of the
device being used.
3.
Glogster is a cloud-based (SaaS) platform for
presentation and interactive learning. It allows users to mix all kinds of
media on a virtual canvas to create multimedia posters, and access a library of
engaging educational content created by students and educators worldwide.
Glogster encourages interactive, collaborative education and digital literacy. In this link it is explained what glogster is : https://youtu.be/8EtDBf4arb4
4. While for our projects, after some discussions made in class, one of our classmates Meglina suggested us an excellent technology tool , which I find it very attractive and helpful for our assignments, tasks and projects. She suggested us Bookwidgets and now each one of us has already started to use it. So, what is Bookwidgets? BookWidgets is an excellent service for teachers and curriculum developers that allows you to create a ton of different types of interactive content to assign to your students. On the pricing side, BookWidgets is completely free for students (including the iOS app), but on the creation side, you do have to pay for an account. By the way, bookwidgets offers a free 30-day trial so you can test it out and see if it might be a beneficial resource for your classroom or school. It’s easy to share the content you create with students in a variety of formats, and you can also get detailed analytics on student performance. Overall, BookWidgets is an excellent resource.
While for the end , I say with no doubt that these new tools are surely going to help me as a future teacher and of course I am going to use them in order to make more attractive every single lesson.
Thank you!
