How is a good and successful teacher

Hello everyone!  I hope you are well and in a good mood! As classes are ending I still need to emphasize that lectures, blogs , assignments etc..  of this subject have helped me a lot how to implement the technology and its tools in education. Each week we had topics chosen by our professor, but this week she left us a free choice, a free topic. Consequently, I saw appropriate to talk about how to be a good and a successful teacher. I will try to share my thoughts and my opinions regarding this topic. At the beginning I will start from myself, how was born the idea to become an English teacher. In fact when I was a kid I did not really like this job, but when I started to study English, love for this language made me to love teaching too. Otherwise, I totally agree with the quote that teachers have three loves: love of learning, love of learners and the love of bringing the first two loves together. So, what we understand as any other job in the world teaching except talent, other key elements that are part of it are also love and passion you have for this job, but also always working hard and having the courage to face every battle in order to improve yourself day by day. I know I am repeating the word love many times  on this post, but believe my dear colleagues ,if you do not feel something with your heart and soul  never do it. Love is the best medicine to do something good. By the way, it is of course important to mention that academic skills and preparation for a teacher must be always  on top, there is no doubt in this part. Therefore, If you have all these elements, be sure that results and your performance will be in the highest levels , but at the same time the feedback we take from our learners may be positive. To be clear what it makes happy a teacher is when he or she sees that his\her students achieve what is explained in the class, but what makes a teacher proud is when this teacher notices that has built a generation with people that first have human values and then of course are the best of their fields. Being a good teacher is strongly related how a good man you are and how well you have the talent to create good relationships with your students. You may be very well prepared but if you do not create a friendly environment for your learners and make them feel like home, maybe everything you explain cannot be acquired in the best way. At the end I advise myself at first than every teacher in the world being patient and do always our best .

Those who know, do. Those that understand, teach.’ –Aristotle

Thank you for your time!

  1. Hey Shpetim! I truly enjoyed reading your post. What caught my eye is the first quote "Teachers have three loves: love of learning, love of learners and the love of bringing the first two loves together.", and I can't agree more. As teachers, we will do everything that we can to ensure that each pupil or student becomes a productive, successful citizen in life. In order for us to obtain this goal, we need to create a loving, positive, respectful, and safe learning environment where each student will be treated equally and be encouraged to do his or her best.
I like the way you perceive things, keep up the good work! :)

  3. Hi Shpetim! I totally agree with you. As teachers we should first know how to create a relationship based on love and understanding with our students because that is the base of a successful related and the solution of every problem related to teaching and class management. We can make their learning memorable only in a comfortable and stress free environment. We may very competent on our academic skills but how much would they worth if we can not teach them right to our students. Loved your work.
